Airtel Broadband Speed Assurance ★
It is evident that Airtel has with a simple note shifted all customers of the 699 Unlimited plan to the 799 Home Unlimited plan that is a dedicated 256Kbps connection. Dedicated as in an assurance that the speed is guaranteed to be equal to or greater than 256Kbps unlike the past where they offered to double your speed at night to compensate for what you are losing. At night, you used to get speeds that you now get throughout the day with the dedicated connection.
For users of the 999 Home plan that doesn’t seem to be the case. You have to ask them to switch you over to the 999 Home Unlimited plan which gets you a dedicated 384Kbps connection. 48KB/second and nothing less.
The problem is that most of these telecom companies are not very good at changing your plans. Most people complain of a sudden drop in speed and you have to continue pestering them till you get what you are paying for.
There is no form of compensation for all that you have lost, with support agents simply saying they don’t know the root cause of the problem you’re facing. They say they hope our speed issue is resolved soon. When is soon? Again, they do not know. Their website is not ready for use. You’ll see that if you try to go any deeper on the default homepage.
The problem is that you don’t have many options here. MTNL fails to work properly in certain areas of Green Park, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj and Mayur Vihar…the places I visit often. Sify is hopeless, their customer service does not recommend their services when you have too much to clarify. Hathway…let’s not talk about them.
