Hidden settings modification on Mac OS X

Really useful application if you don’t care to remember the terminal commands.

And really, why should you? We are living in a GUI world. The .DS_Store file that is saved over mounted networked volumes is irritating, it’s really easy to disable it as you can see above. If you prefer not to have the default stripe background in Finder in List View there’s the checkbox you wanted.

The screenshot says it all, there’s an additional Minimize effect hidden in Mac OS X.

For terminal-lovers:

$ defaults write com.apple.Dock mineffect suck
$ killall Dock

There are quite a few options which let you change the default values of Mac OS X settings with one click.

I just hate it when Safari displays the page only when about three-fourths of it has loaded. Ticking the “Reduce delay time…” option should fix that for you.

Most of these changes would otherwise involve several steps if made using the terminal if they are possible that is.

Does the following look similar to you? Presenting xMod…

I wonder whether ModX is going to be that successful. Sure its a new app which came out just before the TinkerTool Leopard-specific update. But TinkerTool is does it’s job really well.

Really worth keeping TinkerTool ready and available when you really need it.
