Boot Camp ★
What I’ve read on many forums is largely true. The Macbook Pro gets really hot when I’m using Windows XP and not even half as hot while I am running Vista(with Aero) for some odd reason.
I’ve tried to rate the performance using the analysis tool in Vista, but the System and Performance section still continues to show Unrated Performance. Weird.
I was expecting Apple to include track pad tapping but unfortunately they still haven’t with the Boot Camp drivers. The things you can’t do on fusion is use the iSight camera and render graphics with shaders. Now that I’ve got Boot Camp running, I am well equipped for many of the soon-to-be-released games.
English exam tomorrow. First question is about phonemes.
I guess the Intel Enhanced SpeedStep extension isn’t supported with Windows XP but is with Vista.
SpeedStep and cool n’ quite technologies of Intel and AMD are real good at keeping the procesor cool. Like when you are using light applications and doing stuff like browsing, word processing, etc it seriously lowers down the clock speed to save power.
Anyway, search for extensions for Santa Rosa processors on the net. And then Macs are known to get very very hot… do write something about that as well…
Aditya(BlogConnect) pointed out that the new Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros run a lot cooler than the old ones. Till now I think that’s quite true. And because the casing is made of aluminum it tends to get hot as it radiates heat produced quickly to cool down the inside better.
It’s really a mobile performance workhouse. I really don’t have any complaints.
Also, the only reason I installed Vista is for the games that cannot be compiled with Cider. So it is important to note that this rig doesn’t heat up as much as I expected it too even with graphics intensive games at full details.
The 8600GT rocks.
