Computer rebates ★
I have been praising the system of mail-in rebates all along on this blog, as you can save upto half the cost of the product you want to buy. I usually talk about computers and their accessories, and my first mail-in rebate purchase was a HP Laptop which cost me $200 after a $750 rebate.
The only problem with the mail-in rebate system is that the discount is valid only till a certain time and you have to remember to send the rebate form in time to get your money back. What these companies want is that you go buy the product and send the rebate form late enough for them to be able to say that you are no longer eligible for the rebate. It’s happened a lot of times with rebates from BestBuy and CompUSA.
I just came across this website called Coupon Chief which offers discount coupons on a variety of products and more importantly: Computers, the subject of discussion. The great thing about these coupons is that the rebate is instantaneous. When you enter the coupon code on a website like CircuitCity or CompUSA, they reduce the cost of the PC you intend to buy without you having to sign a number of detailed forms.
They even have a page for Dell products, where discount coupons range from $200 to $500. That’s really great, since you can get the Dell 1505 with Core Duo for as less as $749.
